Victorious

12 Victorious
Yes, that’s my left hand with its proportions. My ex-girlfriends loved it…

In a society in which being a victim seems to get you farther than being victorious and in which victory is associated with lack of compassion and with being competitive in a negative way, being victorious is an issue.

In our society it seems to be normal and good to be a victim. A victim can get away with anything. As long as you can be part of a group that is being discriminated against, you can declare yourself to be a victim whenever it suits you. Making use of that excuse seems to be something seen everywhere.

You will see and hear about frightening scenarios where wounded victims of circumstance will accuse those who grew beyond their humble beginnings of treading on the weak to secure their own place at the top.

It’s as if you are fine as long as you can point to inequality in some way. Granted, there is inequality in many cases and I am certain you can come up with a glaring example right now. I have one in my mind too.

What I am talking about is the attitude of the victim that resigns to his or her fate and uses the status to drag everybody around them down with them. They are not only like a drowning man pulling down a swimmer, they are actually putting guilt upon the swimmer to allow them to drag him down.

Yes, sometimes you can get yourself into situations that seem like the world is against you. You are still the one who got you into that situation and that means that you can also get yourself out of that situation.

If you get there, get up, dust yourself off, and start over. Playing the victim, getting angry, expecting others to rectify your situation or help you out, won’t help you. You need to take control.

Victory is the child of preparation and determination. – Sean Hampton

As long as you prepare yourself and have the determination, you can be victorious. You are the key to your own victory. You deserve to be victorious. Regardless of what others say, you can get out of the hole. As long as you believe in yourself, you will get there.

Some people say I have attitude – maybe I do… but I think you have to. You have to believe in yourself when nobody else does – that makes you a winner right there. – Venus Williams

If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride – and never quit, you’ll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards. – Paul Bryant

You have to believe in yourself. You have to make yourself aware of your amazing talent, your breathtaking courage, your defiance, your guts. Think about when you were victorious. You are the only one you have to convince that you can do it. Forget everybody else. As long as you can convince yourself, you are getting ahead.

You can wow the world. You can be spectacular. If you can believe that, you can plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win and be right doing so. You will be victorious.

I never expect to lose. Even when I’m the underdog, I still prepare a victory speech. – H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win. – Zig Ziglar

I am victorious.
